Digestive System of Flatworms (Platyhelminthes)
➤ Digestive System of Flatworms (Platyhelminthes)
Flatworms (Platyhelmintes) have a gastrovascular digestive system which
means that food that has been digested by flat worms is not circulated through
blood vessels but through the intestine. The digestive system of flatworms
(Platyhelmintes) starts in the mouth, the pharynx then into the esophagus.
After the esophagus has a branching intestine throughout the body and delivers
nutrients to the body parts of flatworms.
